NYC: The Cloisters

The Cloisters, a branch of the Met in northern Manhattan, is a rebuilt monastery using parts from different abbeys from medieval Europe. It holds half of the Met's collection of medieval art, the most famous being the Unicorn Tapestries. I thought it was so cool. This was my favourite museum out of all the ones I've been to in the past week (including The Met, Guggenheim, MoMA, and Museum of Natural History). While I didn't particularly appreciate the medieval works of art that were housed at the Met, I was fascinated with the ones that were in the Cloisters. I think it was because of the medieval setting.

My Met pin matched my nails!

  1. Hehe yay now I have that nail colour too thanks to you!

This looks so beautiful. Scott had mentioned taking me there but it never ended up happening. The colours in the tapestry look amazing, and I always find cloisters to be so tranquil and beautiful.

The best is the thyme to touch pun :)
