194: I'M ON A BOAT

I've wanted to go on a boat for years, so for my birthday we finally got around to renting one. It was the perfect day for a boat ride - sunny and warm, but not too hot. We sped around the Burrard Inlet and down into False Creek, where Cat's dad came out to wave at us as we passed by. I waved at all the cruise ships and Aquabuses, and we hit some big waves when the Holland America ship passed by us. Boy did our boat get some air from those waves - we were bouncing around like a banana boat!

Oh yes, and I also went to The Bibo on 4th for lunch today. The Italian Flag appetizer (Arugula, burrata, and tomatoes) as well as the diavola pizza were sooo good!

193: NEW MATTRESS

Got my new mattress delivered today. Unfortunately it's very tall (as in, it's at waist level and I have to jump to get onto it) and my reading lamp is no longer high enough. So I had to improvise and prop the lamp up on some of my books. Problem fixed!

189: ROSY

I was practicing my editing skills, and I moved the levels to the right, and I watched in amazement as the yellow rose started to turn red in the middle!

186: A SERIOUS ONE

I found out the circumstances surrounding the death of a someone I knew, and what scares me is that none of it was her fault. It was a very unfortunate accident involving an old man whose hearing aid batteries didn't work, and a family who was rushing to go to the border. She was just in her own lane, minding her own business, and then bam, it was over.

Please please please always shoulder check, and don't tailgate - otherwise innocent lives can be lost. I strongly feel that people should have to take a driving test once you reach a certain age. Sure, you've been driving for 50 years, but if you're blind and deaf, you should not be on the road.

The images of crashing my car on the highway have returned in full force after hearing the story. It had faded for awhile, but now I'm back to being paranoid while driving on the highway. I can't help it.

185: RUFFLED FEATHERS @ BILTMORE CABARET

Indie chamber pop - I had such a great time listening to and photographing local band Ruffled Feathers at the Biltmore. Plus FINALLY I got some good lighting. I was beginning to think this venue wasn't capable of it, but I managed to get some pictures I am happy with. I love the Christmas lights on the mic stand!

I also love the guy with the maracas. He was dancing around the stage shaking those things.

184: PEDALBOATS

A nice and relaxing pedalboat ride around Deer Lake Park with Evy after a climbing session at Cliffhanger. The weather was perfect - sunny, warm, and breezy. Love love love days like these.

I haven't done a sunset shot in awhile.
