La Couvertoirade

La Couvertoirade is a tiny walled city (Population: ~200) on the list of "France's most beautiful villages".

  1. I thought this village was totally worth the detour. It's in the middle of nowhere, doesn't have many tourists and it feels very complete. You walk up the hill and look back at the village below you and you really feel like you are in the 14th century; there's almost no trace of modernity and none of it is staged. Also, EUR7.50 duck crepes are to die for.
