The Sendero Diez Vistas trail is supposed to provide ten viewpoints, but I found out today that the last seven views are blocked by trees (not enough clearcutting, hah!). It is pretty spectacular at the top, with a view of Indian Arm and Deep Cove. It ended up being a six hour hike, including half of the Buntzen Lake trail for the last hour or so. Besides the first two hours, it turned out to be a pretty unexciting hike, with similar scenery throughout, and it just seemed to drag on and on. Next time I would hike to this viewpoint and then just turn around and go back down the same way I came up, instead of doing the giant loop around Buntzen Lake.
Afterwards we headed to Kits Beach in time for the sunset. I lined up for 15 minutes to look through this telescope, which was aimed at the moon.
