172: SLABBING AND CRACKING

I spent the day at Squamish climbing slabs and cracks. It was my first time doing both, and I have to say that I enjoy cracks a lot more compared to slabs. Slabs are pretty much just flat rock with no real hand holds. Instead, you are supposed to focus on your footwork, which is so difficult because there is nothing to put your feet on either! Patrick told us to look for tiny rock crystals on which I can put my foot on for half a second, but I could not see any of these (imaginary?) crystals. But I learned how to make a fisherman's knot today!

"Stick your butt out!"
